Bonrix Embedded Innovations, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, has introduced an enhanced and more practical version of its Dynamic QR Code Display solution, the Bonrix DQR-222, now equipped with Bluetooth Remote Control support. This latest firmware upgrade has been developed in response to a real client requirement where the shop operator needed a fast and convenient method to manually enter the amount for every new sale transaction. With this new capability, the Bonrix DQR-222 becomes even more useful for retail counters, shops, service points, and small business locations where quick BHIM UPI payment collection is essential.

The Bonrix DQR-222 is already a powerful device for digital payment collection because it supports USB connectivity with desktops, billing counters, and software-based retail systems. In stores where computerized billing is available, the amount can be pushed directly from the billing software to the display. However, in many practical business environments, especially smaller retail shops, mobile counters, temporary sales points, and traditional stores, there may be no billing software installed, or the operator may not want to depend on a computer for every sale. In such cases, entering the payment amount manually becomes a daily requirement.

Although amount entry can also be done through an Android application, the real challenge in day-to-day business use is that a smartphone is not always free at the counter. The mobile phone may be used by another staff member, may be busy with calls, may have battery issues, or may simply not be the most convenient option during peak sales hours. Bonrix identified this operational difficulty and designed a firmware solution that makes the DQR-222 far more independent and efficient.

To address this need, Bonrix has developed a firmware version that allows the Bonrix DQR-222 to automatically connect at startup with a Bluetooth BLE remote control. This gives the retailer a dedicated and always-available handheld input device for entering amounts quickly throughout the day.

With this setup, the retailer can enter the transaction amount in a very familiar way, similar to entering channel numbers on a TV remote. This makes the solution natural to use even for shop owners or staff who are not highly technical. Once the amount is entered, it is immediately reflected on the Bonrix DQR-222 Dynamic QR display, allowing the customer to scan and pay instantly using BHIM UPI applications such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, and others. This gives businesses a dedicated payment display terminal without requiring a PC or mobile phone for every transaction.

This Bluetooth remote control enhancement is not limited to simple numeric amount entry. Bonrix has added multiple practical control options through the remote, making the device more flexible for retailers.

✔️ Increment / decrement amount using arrow keys (step-based pricing)
✔️ Easy switching between Static QR and Dynamic QR modes

Another highly useful feature is the increment and decrement amount control. Retailers can configure step-based pricing adjustments and then use the arrow keys on the remote to increase or decrease the amount in fixed values. This is very beneficial for shops with repeated pricing patterns, quick service counters, food stalls, or any environment where small value changes happen frequently.
